Exploring Chiang Mai- One day trip to Chiang Rai (11 December 2013)

We decided to explore Chiang Rai by taking a 1 day tour starting from 7am. Firstly, we visited the Chiang Rai Hot spring, it is really hot (first time going to hot spring).

After the hot spring, we traveled another 1 hour to reach the next destination (White Temple). This White Temple is so nicely built and interesting, this temple is the 20th century temple with picture of Doraemon, Sailor Moon, Iron man and interesting cartoon character. Take note that this temple is yet to complete and may take years to finish it.

We went to the long neck village. The brass that they are wear is very heavy, could not imagine that on us.

Overall, I feel that it is very tiring journey (3 hours journey back) to see the golden triangle and hot spring and long neck tribe in Chiang Rai. I would recommend to go Pai instead as it is very relaxing with good scenery, weather and good food.

Exploring Chiang Mai- Mo Rooms (10 December 2013)

This time I took the motion sickness pill before leaving Pai for Chiang Mai and it is effective.

We stay at Mo Rooms, they have 12 rooms with our chinese Zodiac theme. The hotel is near the town which is convenience as it is near the temple, night bazaar and several travel agency nearby. When we reach the hotel, the staff is very friendly to provide us information about Chiang Mai and help us to get taxi.

But when we reached the room, we were disappointed on the physical room as it is a bit different from the picture we saw from the internet. The room is very small and has mosquito everywhere. We have to draw the main door's curtain properly (using thing to hold to the curtain) before you can go to the toilet as the toilet door is a glass panel. A bit no privacy. The flooring is made of wooden uneven floor and has a sticky feeling. I feel that you will find a better accommodation than this.

After meeting Leslie and Chantel, we walk around the town and temple for a while. We also went to the Night Bazaar, frankly speaking Bangkok is still the place for shopping.

Exploring Pai Thailand- Boomelicious (9 December 2013)

We decided to try this brunch place boomelicious for all day breakfast meal which is highly recommended in TripAdvisor. The place is very cosy with soft music and provide free wifi. The food is very tasty and drink is good (juices and coffee) too. Just take note that they open till 4pm.

Mocha Latte for the day cost 40 baht each (Sdg $1.60)
tasty healthy meal for dear dear (muesli, fruit salad, mixed berry and Yoghurt) cost 85 baht (Sdg$3.40)

and for me is yummy sinful meal (Big Handover Brekkie- hashbrown, egg, salad, bacon and sausage) cost about 180 baht (Sdg$7.20)

Exploring Pai Thailand- Good scenery viewing point (8 December 2013)

Our official first day at this resort, we took a short walk to our breakfast place. The environment is really great, fresh air and with hill view. At Pai, there is a lot of local tourist, Tourist from China, Japan, Backpacker from the States. The thing, food and service (massage and manicure) here is relatively cheaper than Bangkok.

We bought a new camera Samsung NX 300 to try out on this trip. It is very handy and the effect is nice. Can't really take self portrait as it is too heavy for us to hold the other way.

We decided to rent a car to explore the city as we feel that it is more secure than an bike. We went to the Pai domestic airport first to do some administration matter for the rented car. There is one airline call Kan Air that have flight to Pai from Chiang Mai which you could avoid the hundreds bents.

There are several viewing point before the town which you could have a coffee and enjoy the view. We went to Hillside Coffee House, Coffee In love and Containers cafe which you will love the scenery there.

Next stop we drive around and reach their Chinese Village with good scenery view. But if you have no time, you may skip this place. This Chinese Village is built for the Chinese community to sell their tea product, handicraft to the tourist.

Next place we go is the Pai Town which is a small town which you can walk within a few hours. During this trip we saw a lot of biker for their road trip and they will stop over here for their lunch and dinner. There is a lot of restaurants that sell all day breakfast, western food with good review on TripAdvisor.
