Exploring Hong Kong- 14 April 2014

We went back to The coffee Academics for breakfast as Mike love the coffee here. So coffee lover please come here.

 tea for me...
 Cappuccino for him...
 love the breakfast
must order this dessert to finish off the meal

After the breakfast, we went to shop around Causeway Bay and we found a flagship G-STAR Store and we realized the price is cheaper than Singapore. Mike is so happy and bought a jean and a T-shirt.

Address of G-STAR:
Leighton L03, G13-G14

After Causeway Bay, we decided to go Tsim Sha Tsui again as we want to walk the Avenue of Stars and Kowloon Public Pier. It is so windy and cooling. It is very enjoyable to walk at this stretch of pathway so enjoy the scenery and weather.

I try their ice cream from this Mobile Softee, very milky...

For this trip, I am amazed that I could walk a lot with my small 4 months plus baby bump. By chances, I walked to some new places and experience new foods and things.

To summarize the trip, there are some must place to go if you have limited time at Hong Kong:
- Mongkok
To shop for sport goods like sneaker, sport wear

- Prince Edward
To have a nice porridge and egg tart for breakfast

- Tsim Sha Tsui
To walk along the Kowloon Public Pier

- Central
To view the day and night scenery at the Peak
Get a drink at Lan Kwai Fong
Go to Horizon Plaza for some outlet shopping
Eat the dim sum at Lin Heung Tea House & 奶茶 at Lan Fong Yuen

- Causeway Bay
To have some brunch or coffee experience at The Coffee Academics
To experience the busy street and shopping

**For this trip, please noted there is no tax for branded goods in Hong Kong so there is no VAT refund counter at the shop and airport.

Exploring Hong Kong - 13 April 2014

In the morning, we went to this typical Yum Cha Dim Sum Place called Lin Heung Tea house 蓮香樓
at Central. Take note that you may need to share table with others. Worth to come for an experience in the typical Yum Cha place.

Address of Lin Heung Tea House:
160-164, Wellington Street, Central open from 6am-3.30pm

After our breakfast, we went to a brunch place called The Coffee Academics for some coffee and cake time at Causeway Bay.

At Causeway Bay, we came across Burberry Black and Blue label shop at this shopping mall Fashion Walk.

Address of Burberry Black and Blue Label:
SHOP 16 G/F 11-19 GREAT GEORGE STREET FASHION WALK

At night, we went Mongkok Fa Yuen Street to shop for sport item again, is our favorite place. After shopping, we went to 許留山 for dessert, this store is everywhere so don worry when finding it. Must try the mango Mochi and Carrot cake...

Exploring Hong Kong- 12 April 2014

We went to Super Star Restaurant at Tsim Sha Tsui, it is not the typical old Yum Cha restaurant but the food is not bad which you can try.. Sorry that we did not took any photo of the food because we are too busy eating the dim sum.

Address of Super Star Restaurant:
1/F, Tsim Sha Tsui Mansion, 83-97 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

We went to the Peak at about 4pm and the queue for the ticket is crazily long (waited for about 1.5 hours). But you will not regret going up cos the scenery is so beautiful. Try to go there in the late afternoon for the day scenery and stay for dinner to view the night.

We went to this restaurant called The Peak Lookout which is outside the Peak Tower and the Peak Galleria. The food is quite expensive but the atmosphere is good so give it a try when you want to eat western food.

After the dinner, we decided to go to the Peak Sky Terence at the Peak Tower to watch the night view. There is a photo booth for people who want to capture this beautiful scenery and it's worth the penny to have this shot with my little baby bump.

Exploring Hong Kong - 11 April 2014

Second day, we decided to go Mongkok to eat traditional porridge Sea View Congee Shop 海景粥店
which is between the Prince Edward and Mongkok MTR. Super yummy and smooth. Please try the porridge, mee hoon and the mee, chee cheong fun still ok..

Address of Sea View Congee Shop:
G/F, 72 Bute Street, Prince Edward,Mong Kok

Another cafe which you need to visit and eat the french toast, egg tart and pineapple bun is Kam Wah Restaurant 金華冰 which is very near to the porridge place. You will see their bakery display in front of the stall.

Address of Kam Wah Restaurant:
G/F太子弼街47號地下, 47 Bute Street, Prince Edward

After our heavy breakfast, we decided to shop at Citygate Outlet (which is a factory outlet shopping mall) which is beside the Tung Chung MTR. You may also visit the Big Buddha over there by taking the cable car to Ngong Ping 360.

After the Citygate Outlet, we decided to go to Horizon Plaza for another shopping spree which is located near Ap Lei Chau. You will need to take a taxi from Central or Admiralty MTR, is about 20 min journey.

There are international brands that offer 30-70% discount for their goods, some shop are official open by the individual brands like (Armani, Diesel, Folli Follie, Hugo Boss, Juicy Couture, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren, YSL, Max Mara Fashion). Beside fashion, there are furniture, home accessories, toys and kids accessories and some small cafe which you can visit to rest when you tired.

We manage to get this brochure from one of the shop, so that we don't have to memorize which floor for each brand. You may try your luck to get this from one of the shop or security counter at level 1.

More information on how to get there:

As I get tired easily, we went to this cafe call Sift at level 22 to eat cupcake and lemon tart and enjoy the coffee.

Exploring Hong Kong - 10 April 2014

Before I start my blog on Hong Kong, some good news to my readers.

I am 19 weeks pregnant now and we are very excited on this little Mike/Amanda is coming to our life soon. Lucky for me, I do not have any morning sickness, just do not have any appetite to eat meat. So during the 16 weeks of pregnancy I only gain 1 kg, parents kept asking me to eat more and more... I wish I could..

From the first time we hear baby's heartbeat and the first ultrasound, it is an amazing experience for both of us. I still remember how Mike smiled when he saw the ultrasound. Mi and Mike started to feel that the time is coming near when my bump is more obvious than ever.

We need to escape from Thailand Hot weather as high as 40 degree so we decided to go Hong Kong which is their Spring season (20-24 degree).

When we reached Hong Kong Airport, we decided to take their Airport Express Link to Hong Kong station which is just 24 minutes journey (it cost HKD 80 each person). At the Hong Kong station, there is a free shuttle bus to our hotel. Taxi fare from airport to Central is about HKD 400 so we save about HKD 240.

We stay at Conrad Hong Kong Hotel in Admiralty area which is very convenience as it is connected to the MTR (wwhich is Singapore's MRT) and about 10 min walk to the Peak Tram Terminal. This area is very atas (high end) as people are carrying either Hermes Birkin or Chanel bag.

love the bed..

As the hotel is very near to Central, we decided to explore Central first. We went to this restaurant which is famous for the duck, super yummy... Although it is a bit oily, but we don care as it is our holiday...

must try the duck and Char Siew...

And also the wanton mee...

Address of Yuan Kee Restaurant:
32-40 Wellington Street, Central

After eating the duck wanton mee, we walked past one street stall with nice 奶茶smell, so we decided to check it out... The 奶茶 is so nice and smooth, so please visit it. As we were really full, we just order the 奶茶 and bread with condenser milk. Maybe you can try the french toast, seem yummy too..
