Exploring Bangkok- Asiatique (20 May 2014)

Need to bring my parents to somewhere new, so decided to go Asiatique (have unique riverside restaurants and night market). When you reached the BTS, EXIT 2 and take the free shuttle ferry on the left hand side (with big signage of "Asiatique"). Thing sell there is quite expensive and similar at Chatuchak. The place can be quite hot, not really windy so be prepare to sweat there.

We went to this Thai restaurant "Rocking Doll" which you may like to try as it is not bad.

Exploring Bangkok- Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri 18 May 2014

I have not seen my parents since February when I went back to Singapore for Chinese New Year festival. At that time, I still do not have baby tummy but now I am already 23 weeks in my pregnancy. My parents hope to see me with baby tummy and accompany me in Bangkok (eat, shop and sightseeing) They are so excited one day before the visit that they could not sleep well. When I saw them at the hotel, their big smile and watery eye warmed my heart despite my tiredness from the 2 hours car journey from Kanchanaburi.

We stay at this Grande Centre Ratchadamri which is near the 4 Faces Buddha and CentralWorld. A good deal from Groupon Singapore less than $100 per night. The security guard, bell boy and the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. Just have to be careful with the Taxi driver there, they like to con us with high taxi fare so ask for meter if possible if not bargain the fare to half.

When we enter the room, it is so spacious and bright with good view of high rise building. It comes with a small kitchenette and washer machine cum dryer. Spacious toilet with bath tub and a stand alone bath area (don really like toilet right beside the bed). Love the swimming pool at this hotel as it is well maintained. My parents like this hotel as it is near the BTS and has natural lighting.

We went to Chatuchak Market (weekend market) near Mo Chit BTS. Over here, you will see variety of thing that sell here from pets, home accessories, fashion, food stall (selling mango with sticky rice, milk tea, papaya salad). You may like to try this cafe below their famous Mexican seafood rice together with a bottle of beer or fruit shake.

You may quench your thirst with the bubble milk tea, mango shake, fruit juice or even coconut ice cream there as there are such stall almost everywhere in the market.

We went to a Chinese restaurant Xinn Tien Di at Gayson level 3 which I previously recommended to reader to celebrate Mother and Father day. They love the food there and the price is reasonable.

This meal cost about Sdg $80 plus.

Exploring Bangkok- Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok (3 May 2014)

This time, we decided to stay at this hotel Courtyard by Marriott which is about 10 minutes walk to CentralWorld. This hotel provide free Tut Tut Shuttle to Ratchadamri BTS, just need to inform the concierge when you need it. This hotel is very near to the 4-Faces Buddha and Gayson Shopping Mall.

When we entered the lobby, their friendly security staff and receptionist welcomed us with their smile and greeting, which is a plus point for this hotel. When we entered the room, the room is big and clean. Love the bed, very comfy...

We miss Chinese food so much so decided to go Xinn Tien Di Restaurant at Gaysorn  level 3, this is our 3rd time in this restaurant and they have never failed us with their food and dim sum. With the steamed fish (love the way they steam it), sweet & sour pork (yummy), Kale with salted fish and 2 herbal soup (yummy soup), it cost only 2300 baht (SGD $92 only).

For dinner, we went to CentralWorld level 7 for this Pomodoro (Italy Restaurant), this is one of the best Italy food we could find in the shopping belt. If anyone have better Italy restaurant, please introduce to me.
CentralWorld is the largest shopping Mall in Bangkok with a lot of fashion, electronics stores, salon, restaurant & cafe for your selection. Now they have just open their new "Groove" Corner with Wine and Chill-Out restaurant, so please check it out.

Address of Gaysorn Shopping Mall:

Exploring Bangkok- Anantara Vacation Club Sathorn & Dean & Deluce Cafe (26 April 2014)

We are staying at this beautiful hotel Anantara Vacation Club at Sathorn which is about 10-15 min walk to Chong Nonsi BTS. The staff are very friendly and the room is spacious and clean. The bed is very comfy and soft as we fall asleep within minutes.

love their shower area as it is spacious

When we come to Bangkok, we will eat western, Italy or Chinese food, food that we could not find in Kanchanaburi. Sorry Reader that I did not introduce Thai cuisine to you all.

We went Dean & Deluce Cafe which is beside Chong Nonsi BTS, they actually have moved to the next building with new concept (sandwich, bacon, salad, sushi and pasta corner). They have informed us that their All day Breakfast Menu will be available soon in June. Please visit this cafe as it is way cheaper than Singapore and nicer concept.

love their smoothies...
