Exploring Bangkok- Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri 18 May 2014

I have not seen my parents since February when I went back to Singapore for Chinese New Year festival. At that time, I still do not have baby tummy but now I am already 23 weeks in my pregnancy. My parents hope to see me with baby tummy and accompany me in Bangkok (eat, shop and sightseeing) They are so excited one day before the visit that they could not sleep well. When I saw them at the hotel, their big smile and watery eye warmed my heart despite my tiredness from the 2 hours car journey from Kanchanaburi.

We stay at this Grande Centre Ratchadamri which is near the 4 Faces Buddha and CentralWorld. A good deal from Groupon Singapore less than $100 per night. The security guard, bell boy and the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. Just have to be careful with the Taxi driver there, they like to con us with high taxi fare so ask for meter if possible if not bargain the fare to half.

When we enter the room, it is so spacious and bright with good view of high rise building. It comes with a small kitchenette and washer machine cum dryer. Spacious toilet with bath tub and a stand alone bath area (don really like toilet right beside the bed). Love the swimming pool at this hotel as it is well maintained. My parents like this hotel as it is near the BTS and has natural lighting.

We went to Chatuchak Market (weekend market) near Mo Chit BTS. Over here, you will see variety of thing that sell here from pets, home accessories, fashion, food stall (selling mango with sticky rice, milk tea, papaya salad). You may like to try this cafe below their famous Mexican seafood rice together with a bottle of beer or fruit shake.

You may quench your thirst with the bubble milk tea, mango shake, fruit juice or even coconut ice cream there as there are such stall almost everywhere in the market.

We went to a Chinese restaurant Xinn Tien Di at Gayson level 3 which I previously recommended to reader to celebrate Mother and Father day. They love the food there and the price is reasonable.

This meal cost about Sdg $80 plus.
