Exploring Bangkok- Asiatique, Chatuchak market and Dean & Deluca (25 May 2013)

Is exploring Bangkok time. this time we are staying at The Heritage Hotels Baan Silom for 2 nights, about 15 minutes walk to the nearest BTS "Surasak". It is a small boutique hotel with several services (salon, spa, restaurants, even Naraya Boutique and Bridal shop) near the hotel.

As the breakfast is very very simple, we decided to skip their breakfast for 2 days and went to Dean & Deluca at BTS " Chong Nosi" Exit 3. Have to say that the ambience of the place is better than Singapore, is a stand alone building with high ceiling and glass facade.

After our breakfast, we went to Chatuchak weekend Market (alight at BTS "Mo Chit"). The weather is really killing us, so we decided to look for the Coconut ice cream and fruit juice cafe. Shopping at Chatuchak, please bring  fan and water. 

For us, we shop at our favorite section 2 and 3 of the market only as is the most hip area, is a must to go. 

 Please also try the coconut ice cream (30 Baht) near the MRT area (near section 2).

As the weather is killing us, we also went for our mix fruit shake at one of the cafe.

After Chatuchak, we went for a short break at Silom Complex and went to After you Dessert Cafe. This time we decided to try their Chocolate Toast Banana, love it...

After that, we went back to our hotel for a nap before we headed to Asiatique The Riverfront. You can take to BTS "Saphan Taksin" and take their shuttle boat (free) or express boat (20 baht). Asiatique is more of a dine and chill place than a shopping area as their item can be find at Chatuchak market and is more expensive. Can give it a miss if you have no time. We went to this restaurant " Happy Fish", ambience is good for gathering and drinking session. Food portion is quite big which you can shared.

Exploring Bangkok- On the table tokyo cafe

Like to share good food venue in Bangkok. We went to one of the restaurant "On the table tokyo cafe" at Central Plaza, there is also another at CentralWorld (near Chit Lom BTS).

The food is like Japan cum Western food. The food is nice and special.

cod fish is tasty and soft. love this, must try. (about $380 Baht)

the spicy tuna sushi taste ok only, can skip this. (about $250 Baht)

this seafood in white wine soup taste special, spicy and tasty. (about $480 Baht)

With these 3 dishes, it cost 1200 Baht (Sgd $50), not that expensive compared to Singapore's restaurant. Please try the cod fish and the soup when you visit this restaurant.

 

Our anniversary

This May is a special month for Mike and I. Is our 5th year anniversary (10 May 2008 we rom at our favorite hotel- Gallery hotel and 23 May 2009 we held our customary wedding dinner at Grand Shanghai). So this month is full of dinner celebration.

Our love journey start with his first SMS to be his "dinner's date" for his army dinner at Gallery hotel and that is the reason why we choose Gallery Hotel. Over these few years, he never failed to  surprise me with boutique of flowers and special dinner venue. This year we had a simple celebration at Bangkok, even though there is no flower but there is present for me.

Over these years, we spend almost everyday together, from morning we wake up together for work to dinner after work, for weekend we wake up to eat breakfast, shopping together.


Now when we are staying at Thailand both of us learn to be more independent which help us a lot in this relationship. Even though he seldom say sweet words to me but I am happy to have him with me. Like to thanks him for everything he did for me.
